Embracing the Magic of Early Spring

Here in the UK, the first signs of spring are emerging—the delicate blossoms, the lengthening days, and that fresh, earthy scent in the air after a morning rain.
There’s nothing quite like stepping into the countryside this time of year, feeling the warmth of the sun on your face and the gentle rustle of new leaves in the breeze. These moments of connection with nature are truly a form of therapy, a chance to slow down, breathe deeply, and reset.
A February Escape to Scotland

During the February half-term, I was lucky enough to head north for a photography trip to Scotland. It was my first time visiting Arisaig, and what a soul-nourishing experience it was. There’s something about the raw beauty of the Scottish wilderness—the rugged coastlines, the shifting light over the water, and the sheer sense of space—that feeds the spirit in a way few other places can.
Being surrounded by such natural splendour was a powerful reminder of why I’m so passionate about creativity, nature, and the way they intertwine.
The Owl Who Couldn’t Fly… Yet!
A little reminder that my new children’s storybook, The Owl Who Couldn’t Fly… Yet! is now published! This heartfelt story follows Bill the owl on his journey of perseverance and self-belief, beautifully complemented by a set of positive affirmation cards designed to support children’s well-being. Encouraging young minds to believe in themselves is at the heart of my work, and I hope this book brings inspiration to those who read it.

A Special Art Exhibition in April
I’m delighted to share that I will be exhibiting my artwork alongside my 88-year-old Pops, a wonderful landscape painter, at Bowlees Visitor Centre in Teesdale throughout the whole month of April. This exhibition is incredibly special to me—art has always been a shared passion between us, and showcasing our work together is a true honour. If you’re local, I’d love for you to visit!

The first Joyful Art Workshop of 2025 kicks off in March, and I couldn’t be more excited! Picture an afternoon of creativity, relaxation, and inspiration—complete with afternoon tea and fizz—at the stunning, award-winning Gables Glamping Pods and Spa Retreat. You can even make a full experience of it by staying overnight. If you haven’t booked your spot yet, now’s the time!

A Reminder to Slow Down
As life gets busier, it’s so important to take time for yourself—to step outside, breathe in the fresh air, and soak up the beauty of the countryside. Whether it’s a long walk, a creative moment, or simply sitting quietly in nature, these small acts of self-care can do wonders for mental health.

I’d love to hear how you’re welcoming the new season—what’s bringing you joy this spring?
Until next time, stay creative, stay connected to nature, and take care.
