A quiet hello...and what's next.

Hello lovely friends,
It’s been quite a while since I last popped into your inbox, and I wanted to take a moment to say hello.
This year hasn’t unfolded quite as I expected.
It began with a broken wrist and surgery on my dominant right hand. As an artist, that felt like a huge setback. Yet, in true nature fashion, there was a lesson hidden in the challenge. I discovered that I could paint with my left hand, and whilst it wasn’t always easy, it reminded me that creativity often finds a way.
Just as I was finding my rhythm again, life brought another difficult chapter. My older brother became very poorly and recently passed away. It’s been a time of sadness, reflection, and taking stock of what truly matters.
Over these past months, I’ve spent a lot of time being still.
Listening.
Walking.
Watching.
Sketching.
Simply noticing.
And I’ve realised that sometimes we don’t need to push forward at full speed. Sometimes we need to pause, breathe, and allow ourselves the space to heal, reflect, and just be.
One thing I have noticed is that so many of you have stayed here quietly alongside me. Even when I wasn’t creating as much or sending emails, you remained. For that, I am deeply grateful. Thank you for your patience, kindness, and continued support.
Recently, I spent some precious time in Scotland, surrounded by mountains, lochs, wildlife and wide open skies. With sketchbook in hand and camera at the ready, I found myself reconnecting with the simple joy of paying attention to the world around me. More adventures are already being planned, and I can’t wait to share them with you.
Looking ahead, I’m moving in a more focused direction with my work.
Many of you know that my art has always been about more than painting wildlife. It’s about wonder, connection, mindfulness, and finding joy in the small things. Over the coming months, I’ll be gathering together something I’ve been quietly working on called The Art of Noticing.
It’s not quite ready yet, but it’s growing gently in the background. I’ll share more when the time feels right.
As a small thank you for being here, I’ve created a free downloadable positivity card for you. I hope it serves as a little reminder that difficult seasons don’t last forever, and that beauty can still be found in the everyday if we take time to notice it.

Thank you for being part of this journey.
